Shawl Ministry

The Shawl Ministry originated in America and here at Hanham we have set up our own Group as part of the Church’s Outreach into the Community.

We are a group of ladies of all ages who meet on a monthly basis (the last Thursday at 2.15pm) to use our talents of Knitting and Crochet for the benefit of others.

As the name suggests we primarily knit or crochet Shawls for the sick, infirm, elderly and new born babies - in fact for anyone who may appreciate a little ‘comforter’ in their time of need.

However, we are not restricted to shawls; we also offer comfort, love and prayers in our knitting and crochet in the form of blankets, hats, bootees- whatever.

Whatever it may be each item is sent with a written prayer or words of comfort for its recipient.

If you would like to join us for a couple of hours a month and share in a cup of tea, natter and friendly companionship contact Pam Blackmore (0117 9611754).
